Catherine and Murtaza welcomed me like family when I arrived to photograph their weeklong wedding in beautiful Malibu. I met them almost a year ago when I photographed Catherine’s sister’s wedding in Italy. I was happy to spot a lot of familiar faces – like Catherine’s grandmothers and little Tomas. Being welcomed in like family created the space for me to capture what the celebrations felt like, rather than merely what they looked like.
