When Chelsea and Ryan first reached out to me, they posed a challenge that immediately piqued my interest: to shoot a portion of their session on film.
The more we talked, the more apparent it became that they valued candid moments, spontaneity, and above all, capturing the magic of the day. I love shooting film, but I’ve always reserved it for personal photos because of the unpredictability and risk involved with it (so many things can go wrong). That, combined with shooting in a photojournalistic way, was a challenge I was up for.
Their wedding day was incredible. We had all of City Hall to ourselves for the ceremony, and the reception was at Gallery 308 in Fort Mason. For their day after session (shot entirely on film), we hit up Twin Peaks and Bernal Heights, getting some beautiful views of the city.
